Classroom Expectations:
1. Be prepared with all materials to class ready to rehearse, daily. (Music, Pencil, Instrument, folder)
2. NO GUM IN CLASS
3. Each student is expected to attend scheduled weekly lessons.
4. This class is not a study hall and shall not be used as one. We have many concerts ahead of us this year we need every moment to prepare for quality performances.
5. All materials are to be put away in their designated place before students leave the classroom. (Folders and instruments in lockers)
6. In accordance with the district policy, students will be allowed to drop band during the first five-weeks of the semester. If new music students remain in band beyond the five-week marking period, he or she will not be able to drop band prior to the end of the twenty-week marking period.
a. Administration may remove a student from band based on the recommendation of the teacher or for the benefit of the student at anytime of the year.
b. A parent-teacher conference is required any time a student is dismissed from or drops band.
Concerts Dress
Please be aware of the expectation early as the performance season is close at hand.
1. Black dress pants. LONG black dresses are acceptable for girls. Please remember that we are on an elevated platform and it is most acceptable for both boys and girls to wear pants in a musical setting. Please, no shorts or sweat pants
2. White collared dress shirt. Shirts with graphic or are not acceptable
3. Black shoes and socks
4. Ties are optional for boys
